Booking Procedure

Getting Started With the Booking Process:

You have decided that you are in love with a yacht and want to book that boat for a set date range...Great! Please fill out our online request form, send us an email or call us and we will walk you through the next steps. If you’re sending an email, please include the date ranges, yachts interested in and how many people will be going on your charter. This will help us give you the best information when we respond to your inquiry. The process is painless with Blue Ocean Charters by your side.

If you are interested in chartering and need a little (or a lot) of help deciding when to go, what boat to pick or any other details. That’s great too and why we are here. We would love to hop on a phone call and find out more about your group’s interests and preferences. If you prefer to primarily correspond via email, that works for us too.

Once you decide on a boat and dates, we will place a hold for you as outlined above.

Payments

When you have decided on your boat and preferred dates, we will place a hold on your boat. The hold is good for one week. A payment of 25% of the total charter fee needs to be made during that week or the boat will no longer be on hold. During the hold period, another person may challenge the hold which means payment will have to be made within 24 hours of the challenge in order to secure the boat.

The second payment of 25% is due 6 months before the charter and the remaining 50% is due 30 days before the charter. All payments are paid to the broker who in turn sends them to a clearing house. The clearing house will hold some of the funds until after the charter is completed.

Preference Sheet

After the charter is confirmed, we will send over a preference sheet either via word document or an online portal. The preference sheet goes over activity level preferences, food and drink preferences and other items that will affect the charter. It is extremely important that this is filled out accurately especially any information regarding known medical conditions and allergies. The preference sheet is typically due 30 days before the charter date but don’t worry, we will send reminders and walk you through it if needed but the sooner you send this back, the easier it will be for us to plan your perfect trip.
